How Long does a website take?
We’re frequently asked how much a website costs. Our rate is $136/Hour which makes Geeks on the Beach Web Agency something of a value relative to our peers. Now that we know our hourly rate the real question is how long will your project take. And the answer is “that depends…”. Below are some rough guidelines that may give you a sense of how long things take. Every project is unique. They are included in the hope that they may be useful in offering a general sense of how long various types of website take to build and roughly what you can expect at various price points:

25-35 hours
A beautiful one or two-page website. Stylish, professional, thoughtfully designed, and search engine optimized, as far as a one or two-page website can be.
If you’re just starting out or testing a new product or service, this is a great place to start. The site can always be expanded into a larger, multi-page website as your business grows.
Twenty-five hours is also about as quickly as we can design and configure a simple Shopify e-commerce site with a small product catalogue and straightforward functionality.

35-55 hours
A typical 5ish-page small-business website. This usually includes a homepage, three or so product or service pages, and a contact page.
Each page is an opportunity to tell your story to visitors and search engines alike. The additional time also gives us room to refine the design, organize your content, and create a cohesive experience across the site.

55-75 hours
This is the sweet spot when you need something more sophisticated than a simple small-business website, but not anything as fancy or time-consuming as our larger offerings.
It allows for extra pages, more customized layouts, and useful features such as booking or reservations, events, an advanced blog, simple e-commerce, directories, or integrations.
There is also more time to refine the user experience, strengthen your messaging, and improve your search engine optimization.

75-125 hours
A more customized website with additional time for strategy, design refinements, content organization, and functionality.
Projects in this range often include several unique page layouts, more involved features or integrations, and a broader range of content. It’s a good fit for an established business with multiple services, audiences, locations, or goals.
This tier also gives us more room to polish the details and make sure the website feels cohesive, useful, and distinctly yours.

125-250 hours
A larger and more demanding project that benefits from extra consulting, design, development, copywriting, and search engine optimization.
Projects at this level may include complex integrations, directories, memberships, advanced filtering, more extensive e-commerce, or specialized functionality. They may also require more collaboration, testing, revisions, and coordination across a larger team.
This is where the project starts to feel less like building a collection of pages and more like developing a complete digital platform for your business or organization.
